I am sponsoring this case for myself. This case defines OpenBoot device
node
and Machine description nodes to represent TPM device. The purpose for
the device node is to allow Solaris TPM driver to attach.

See details in the attached one-pager.

The timer is set to July 31st (next Friday).

This case is seeking approval for,
a minor/micro/patch OS binding and
a minor/micro binding for the firmware.

Thanks.

2. Project Summary

   2.1. Project Description:

This project introduces TPM device and Machine description nodes.
This will enable SPARC Solaris TPM driver to attach and load.

   2.2. Risks and Assumptions:

   None.

3. Business Summary

   3.1. Problem Area:

SPARC platforms do not support TPM devices. The TPM chip is built
in on all CMT platforms but SW does not support it.

   3.2. Market/Requester:

   None.

   3.3. Business Justification:

To be competitive with vendors in the market space, SPARC platforms
   should support TPM.

3.6. How will you know when you are done?:

When the code changes required for the proposed changes are integrated
   into respective workspaces.

4. Technical Description:

4.1 Device binding to Open Firmware for the sun4v virtual TPM device.

The virtual TPM device is a child of the "virtual-devices"
   sun4v bus node.

   4.1.1 Properties

   4.1.1.1 Open Firmware Defined Properties

"reg" - standard propname defining the devices address space

		A single configuration space entry

Note: Since this node is a 'virtual-devices'
child node, the reg property format is defined
		by the 'virtual-devices' binding, which
		is specified by FWARC/2005/111.

"name" - standard propname defining the device name

		Value: "tpm"

"compatible" - standard propname defining driver compatibility

        Values: "SUNW,sun4v-ptpm"
                "SUNW,sun4v-vtpm"

Property value "SUNW,sun4v-ptpm" is used when the access
to the HW TPM device is allowed for guest domains.

Property value "SUNW,sun4v-vtpm" is used when the access
to the HW TPM device is not allowed for guest domains.
Instead all access to TPM device is virtualized.

4.2 TPM Machine Description devices node

Following node will be added to Machine Description to support
virtual TPM under "virtual-devices" MD node.

    TPM node :
The TPM hardware support is represented as a single virtual
device and is represented in the Machine Description (MD) graph
for a Guest as a virtual-device node with the following properties:

    Properties:

      Name Tag Required? Description
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------
"name" PROP_STR Yes The name property of the node.
                                             Value :
                                             "tpm"

"compatible" PROP_STR Yes The compatible property of
                                             the node.

                                             Values :
                                             "SUNW,sun4v-ptpm"
                                             "SUNW,sun4v-vtpm"

      "cfg-handle" PROP_VAL Yes 64-bit unsigned integer
                                             identifying this device
                                             uniquely.
