I am sponsoring this case for myself. This case adds delete_all
command to the "var-config" domain service to the specification
approved under 2007/294 FWARC case. This addition will allow us
to "delete" all of the configuration variables using one command
instead of "delete" command per variable. This will provide
a significant boost to OpenBoot "set-defaults" command.

This addition also bumps the version of the "var-config" domain
service. The "delete_all" command will only be available in
"var-config" version 2.0 and beyond.

The updated specification is copied to the materials directory at,
http://sac.sfbay.sun.com/Archives/CaseLog/arc/FWARC/2010/214/materials/var-config-ds_Specification.txt

The differences between this and the previous version of the specification
approved under 2007/294 is also in the materials directory at,
http://sac.sfbay.sun.com/Archives/CaseLog/arc/FWARC/2010/214/materials/diffs.txt

The timer for this case is set to time-out on June 17, 2010.

This project requests the following release bindings:

  OS components -	minor/micro/patch
  firmware components - any

Thanks.

Hitu, since you're only adding a new message type and not changing any existing message formats, it seems a minor version bump (i.e. to 1.1) is more appropriate than a major number bump.

One other minor request: can you move section 3.5.8 up between 3.5.5 & 3.5.6, so all the request message formats are described in order?

Thanks.
