It took me some time to track down the information. This is according to Niall Power: --begin quote-- I had to fix a Trusted JDS issue where things like trash:// burn:// computer:// etc weren't able to work inside local zones. The problem was that a per zone D-Bus session wasn't running. Once we got a per zone D-Bus session running the problem was fixed. The D-Bus system bus is still inaccessible inside zones though but that could change in the future as there is work in progress to make global zone Unix sockets accessible inside zones. Currently cross zone UDS is not permitted although the code has been written to enable it. LSARC 2008/506 appears to be the case that covers this.  It appears that 
it could be made to work for the D-BUs system bus UNIX domain sockets 
too.  However I don't think that case should be extended to do so as 
some analysis of the sensitivity of the information on the system bus 
may be needed first.

Right.  Which is why even if we can do UDS across zones for dbus, its more likely that I will implement some other proxy mechanism for specific dbus system messages (using the existing pipes between the stripe and the zoned xagents) if and when the need arises.
