Firstly, I haven't addressed the Big Rule question regarding SPARC support with arcmsr. Secondly, why request integration into SUNWckr rather than create a new package? Re the Big Rule question: I don't currently have sufficient hbas (I only have one at the moment, courtesy of Areca's CEO) to test the driver on the SPARC platform. Delivering SPARC support in arcmsr is on the roadmap for Phase 2. Re the package integration choice: Since it is expected that arcmsr would provide attachment to a bootable OS target, I want to provide a buffer so that a system admin keen on minimisation would not inadvertently remove the driver supply access to their OS instance. Garrett mentioned that providing a SUNWarcmsr or similarly-named package would make it easier to minimise a system too. I am working on arcmsr again, and I am being assisted by Jianfeng Ding in our Beijing engineering office. My target for integration is build 98. For support of new adapters at this point it's probably best if Areca just emails me and Jianfeng the information required for them, and sends a copy of the driver source so we can get it included in our copy.
