I looked into the case directory and found a 1-pager, but
there are no other materials. Clicking on the
20080905_michael.christensen link gave me some unreadable
binary file. I attached the 1-pager below for the benefits
of others (since I did spent non-zero time hunting for materials).
In future, please attach the proposal in the fasttrack mail or at least
provide a link to it.

Anyway, I am curious as to how this proposal relates to
libpcp virtual channels in psarc/2005/372. Is this proposal
going to obsolete libpcp? Or there plans to migrate libpcp
customers to this new service? What clients will be using
this interface for this initial integration/putback?

They are unrelated. The PCP protocol was implemented to communicate
between the host and service processor. The libpcp framework allows
clients on the host machine to exactly do that.

Whereas the DS framework is used for exporting services between
domains in the system. It is a service mechanism that allows
domain OSs to export capabilities for use by the LDom manager
or other clients. Most of these services are currently platform
capabilities in the kernel. The libds up-levels this capability
and makes this service mechanism available to clients in userland.
The first consumer of this capability is the FMA framework for
communicating errors and taking corrective action between the
control domain and the IO domains containing PCIe buses.

Thanks

Sorry for the late comment to your fast track.

Your pdf materials are marked "Confidential". This is an open case.
Please ensure the documentation contains no confidential materials.
Assuming the "open" nature of the case is to be retained, the timer was
extended one week to accommodate open review of the sanitized materials.

Rick (and all),

The case materials have been updated. New specification with proper
classification is
UserDomainServices-1.10.pdf. Question, does the timer need to be extended?
Materials have not really changed, only their classification. The
project team is trying
to meet a deadline of build 99 of nevada for a proper soak for build 2
of S10u7.

Regards,
Michael

The intent that the materials not be confidential is clear.
Two items:
    1) Your updated spec never made it to the case directory (zero length)
    2) I'm assuming that the "old" spec is identical, except the
"footer", so
can remain in the case directory as open.

These are all nits, I believe the case should be approved.
