Date: Thu, 19 Feb 2009 15:00:04 +0100 From: Javier Acosta With the Migration from xkbdata to XkeyboardConfig there are some changes to non-Sun keyboard layout maps. Below can be found details of these changes: 1. Variants were created for different languages and regions replacing old kb maps. For example in old xkbdata there were more than 6 kb maps for different languages or regions of India; with the new XkeyboardConfig all those maps are included into one single kb map (in) and are separated by variants. The attached file (eval_table.txt) contains detailed information referring old xkbdata map with the corresponding new XkeyboardConfig map and its respective variant. 2. Some kb maps could have minor differences compared with the older xkbdata map. I mean some symbols may be in different position for some kb maps. It is the case of the following keyboard maps: bg, br, by, ca, cz, fi, hr, is, mm, mt, no, pl, ro, ru, si, tj, tj, tr, uz, and vn. Details on exact symbols differences are described in the attached file (eval_diff.txt) and sub-files (new_diff_*.txt). Best Regards, -- Javier Acosta
