Summary
=======

  Open Source HAL plugin that automatically configures print queues
  under CUPS for USB attached printers.  This plugin is commonly used
  on Linux to provide hotplug USB printer support.

  hal-cups-utils 2009-03-25 will be delivered via the SFW consolidation
  in the SUNWhal-cups-utilsr and SUNWhal-cups-utils packages. A patch
  binding is requested.

Yes, they probably should be.  Nobody interacts with them directly.  
It's all HAL and CUPS backend magic.
