Technical Description 4.1 Details This project is to support Atheros AR5416/5418/9280/9281/9285 IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless devices through providing arn(7D) driver, which is based on gldv3, mac_wifi plugin, and net80211 kernel module. The existing ath driver only supports the basic IEEE 802.11a/b/g features, doesn't cover 802.11n. And the community has decided not to use the ath driver for future Atheros wifi chip any more. The arn driver is a completely new driver supporting Atheros 802.11n wifi chips. It's implemented following the reference code provided by Atheros. This driver will be used to support the current Atheros 11n chips and those next generation 11n chipsets released in the future.
