I'm sponsoring this case for Jing Xiong. It is to provide a new
ethernet driver, cxge, for Chelsio T3 10 Gigabit Ethernet device.
The requested release binding is minor.

I have marked it as "closed approved automatic" since the change is
straightforward and the interface is clear. If there is request, I'd be
happy to upgrade it to a fast track and set the timer.

4. Technical Description

   4.1. Details:

This project is to integrate a new driver named cxge for the Chelsio
Terminator 3 (T3) Ethernet controller into Solaris. This 10 Gb
Ethernet
controller is widely used by Solaris OEM partners.

The cxge driver is a Nemo based driver which provides basic
support for
the functions of the Chelsio T3 10 Gb Ethernet controller, including
chip initialization, frame transmit and receive, multicast and
       promiscuous features.

The cxge driver supports Brussels, Suspend/Resume, and Fast Reboot.
This driver will be supported on both x86 and SPARC platforms.

   4.2. Bug/RFE Number(s):

A nit. You might want to reference the case -
      PSARC/2009/638 Public GLDv3 Interfaces
which promoted a core subset of the GLDv3 APIs to "Committed".

Also, do we know if cxge will only be using the interfaces
committed in PSARC 2009/638 or does it use any consolidation private
interfaces too? It does not matter either way for this case. I am just
curious.

-Krishna

Hi Krishna,

Thanks for the information. The project team has checked the cxge
driver, and confirmed that all Nemo interfaces used by this driver are
covered by PSARC 2009/638.
